Carol Singing

An intrepid band of Carol Singers, accompanied by Chris on the trumpet, toured the village on Friday 23rd December entertaining the residents with and impromptu selection of carols and Christmas songs. Afterwards they all returned to the village hall for a welcome drink of mulled wine and tasty mince pie. If you missed out on the fun this year - make a date in your diary for next year!

Keeping Middleton Tidy

May 2010_003v3

The rainclouds disappeared long enough on Sunday 8th May for a band of willing volunteers to scour the streets of Middleton picking up rubbish. A big thank you to all who helped out. (14/05/11)

New Village Hall Committee

At the AGM on 14 October 2009, a new village hall committee was voted in. The new Chair is Carrie Bennett, vice-chair is David Muirhead, secretary is Rhona Holland, and Fiona Ross kindly agreed to remain as treasurer for another year. Many thanks to the new members for taking the plunge and thanks also to the outgoing members for their hard work. Susan Owenson agreed to carry on as editor of the Village Mode and Alan Pemberton to continue keeping this website up to date. (14/10/09)

Village Hall Pub open on Fridays

The village hall obtained a premises license earlier this year, which allows the bar to be opened whenever needed, without requiring us to obtain an occasional license from the council for each event, as before. For the time being, every Friday evening that the hall is free, the bar will open from 7pm - 11.30pm (approx). Everyone is welcome to drop by for a drink and a chat! The bar may also open on other days during the weekend - this will be advertised locally (look out for the notice board). (28/11/10)
